VSIM support notes kept since 2023 list Telegram as tested with these numbers. It has not been re-measured yet, so run the two-minute test first.

The two-minute test, before you pay

  1. CopyPick a number below and press Copy.
  2. PasteEnter it in the app you need and ask for a code.
  3. Accepted? If the app says a code was sent, come back and buy that exact number.
  4. Rejected?Try another area code, or use a one-time number.

You will not see the code during the test, because the number is not yours yet. You are only checking whether the app accepts it.

Keep it safe

How do people lose a permanent number, and how do you avoid it?

  • Buying before testingThe app may refuse internet numbers. Test first, pay second.
  • Keeping the old passwordUntil you change it, the password you received is the only lock on the account.
  • Letting the number sleepGoogle can take back a number nobody uses. Text or call at least once every 50 days.
  • Signing in from many countriesSudden sign-ins from different places trigger security checks. Use one US IP at first.
  • Sharing the backup codesAnyone holding them can pass the second step and take the number.

Questions

What do people ask before buying a permanent number?

01

What is a permanent virtual number?

A phone number that stays assigned to you instead of expiring after one code. On VSIM it is a US Google Voice number delivered together with the Google account it lives in.

02

Is it a real SIM card?

No. It is an internet (VoIP) number. You use it in a browser or in the Google Voice app, not in a phone's SIM slot.

03

Will it work for the app I need?

No seller can promise that for every app. Run the two-minute test on this page: enter the number in your app before you pay, and buy it only if the app accepts it.

04

How long does the number stay mine?

VSIM charges no renewal. The number stays while the Google account stays open and the number is used at least once every 50 days.

05

Can I receive calls as well as texts?

Google Voice handles both inside the account. Whether a particular sender reaches the number depends on that sender.

06

Do I need a VPN or a US address?

Always sign in to Google Voice from a US IP address; a US virtual server with a fixed IP is the safest way. No US postal address or ID is needed to buy on VSIM.

07

Can I get my money back?

Yes, if you report a fault within 30 days and a person at VSIM confirms it. The money returns to your VSIM balance. A lock caused by signing in from outside the US is not a fault.

08

How do I pay?

From your VSIM balance, topped up in crypto through Heleket or NOWPayments, from $1.

09

Can Google close the account?

Yes. Google can ask for extra checks or close an account it finds suspicious, and it is very sensitive to location. Any other problem in the first 30 days can be reported from your number page.

10

How is it different from a one-time number?

A one-time number receives a single code and is released after about 15 minutes. A permanent number is for services that text the same number again later.
