Reported working
Telegram
VSIM support notes kept since 2023 list Telegram as tested with these numbers. It has not been re-measured yet, so run the two-minute test first.
Reported working
Apple ID
The same older notes list Apple ID as tested. Apple can still ask for a different number on some accounts.
Uncertain
The older notes say WhatsApp may cause problems. Enter the number in WhatsApp before buying; if no code is offered, use a one-time number instead.
Likely refused
Gmail and Google
The older notes say Google usually does not accept these numbers for its own sign-up checks.
Likely refused
Discord
Listed in the older notes as a service that tends to reject internet numbers.
Likely refused
OpenAI and ChatGPT
Listed as likely to refuse. A one-time number from a mobile carrier is the better choice.

Another service
There is no record for it yet. The two-minute test below answers the question for free.

The two-minute test, before you pay
- CopyPick a number below and press Copy.
- PasteEnter it in the app you need and ask for a code.
- Accepted? If the app says a code was sent, come back and buy that exact number.
- Rejected?Try another area code, or use a one-time number.
You will not see the code during the test, because the number is not yours yet. You are only checking whether the app accepts it.

When does paying once beat renting a number?
Enter a monthly rent you were quoted elsewhere and the months you need. The race shows when one payment gets cheaper.
Prices only. A rented mobile number can be accepted by apps that refuse internet numbers.

What happens if the number does not work?
A person at VSIM reads every report. A confirmed fault returns the full price to your VSIM balance, ready for another number. Refunds go to the balance, not to the wallet you paid from.
Covered
- The sign-in details do not open the account.
- The account is closed or locked at your first sign-in.
- The number in the account is not the one you chose.
Not covered
- An app refuses internet numbers. That is why the test comes first.
- A lock after a sign-in from outside the US.
- The number was taken back after long inactivity, or the password was changed and lost.
Keep it safe
How do people lose a permanent number, and how do you avoid it?
- Buying before testingThe app may refuse internet numbers. Test first, pay second.
- Keeping the old passwordUntil you change it, the password you received is the only lock on the account.
- Letting the number sleepGoogle can take back a number nobody uses. Text or call at least once every 50 days.
- Signing in from many countriesSudden sign-ins from different places trigger security checks. Use one US IP at first.
- Sharing the backup codesAnyone holding them can pass the second step and take the number.
Your first-day checklist
Tick these on the day you buy. The ticks stay in this browser only.
All done. The number is fully in your hands.
Who sells it
Who is selling this, and what do we not know yet?
The new site has not sold enough permanent numbers to publish its own success rate per app. Until it has, this page quotes the older notes and labels them as such. For one-time numbers, the rates are already published.
Questions
What do people ask before buying a permanent number?
01What is a permanent virtual number?
A phone number that stays assigned to you instead of expiring after one code. On VSIM it is a US Google Voice number delivered together with the Google account it lives in.
02Is it a real SIM card?
No. It is an internet (VoIP) number. You use it in a browser or in the Google Voice app, not in a phone's SIM slot.
03Will it work for the app I need?
No seller can promise that for every app. Run the two-minute test on this page: enter the number in your app before you pay, and buy it only if the app accepts it.
04How long does the number stay mine?
VSIM charges no renewal. The number stays while the Google account stays open and the number is used at least once every 50 days.
05Can I receive calls as well as texts?
Google Voice handles both inside the account. Whether a particular sender reaches the number depends on that sender.
06Do I need a VPN or a US address?
Always sign in to Google Voice from a US IP address; a US virtual server with a fixed IP is the safest way. No US postal address or ID is needed to buy on VSIM.
07Can I get my money back?
Yes, if you report a fault within 30 days and a person at VSIM confirms it. The money returns to your VSIM balance. A lock caused by signing in from outside the US is not a fault.
08How do I pay?
From your VSIM balance, topped up in crypto through Heleket or NOWPayments, from $1.
09Can Google close the account?
Yes. Google can ask for extra checks or close an account it finds suspicious, and it is very sensitive to location. Any other problem in the first 30 days can be reported from your number page.
10How is it different from a one-time number?
A one-time number receives a single code and is released after about 15 minutes. A permanent number is for services that text the same number again later.
